Humpday Confessions

It's that day again! You ready to confess?

I confess that...

I am so happy that I was able to see my favorite band, MuteMath, in concert last night. This was the first time that I saw them headlining and it was amazing. I've been following them via Facebook and this is the first year they've sold out all of their shows! I'm so glad that I was able to snag tickets.

I'm still debating if I should keep working 9-5 or switch back to 8-4. I do like being able to sleep in to 7 a.m. but sometimes getting home by six or so, then having to walk Starla and then working out afterwards makes for a really late night. #indecisive

My best friend, Ariel, left for Seattle on Sunday and it was a total tear fest. Her boyfriend was bartending so we went to a restaurant and Ariel and I shared at least five teary hugs. Complete waterworks.

My sponsors are awesome! I want to give a big shout out to Always, Al, A Blissful Haven, Anchored to Sunshine, Belle Brita, and The Whisper Box.

This month has been awful for me for spending. Whoops. I've busted through all my budgets except grocery shopping. I literally have to eat out every day. I need to go to Harris Teeter and buy out the whole store.

I scheduled my next Stitchfix! It's coming mid-October and I cannot wait to see what I get. I know I've been seeing a lot of bad fixes out there recently but my past two were really good, and I need to spice up my wardrobe for fall, so here's to hoping for a good fix.

What are you confessing this week?

Now onto the link-up!

Here are the ground rules for the link-up:

  • Each Wednesday create a post about what’s going on in your life and confess!

  • Grab the button and include it in your post or include a text link back to the link-up. This will be mandatory.

  • Link up so we can see what you're confessing this week.

  • Comment on at least one other blogger’s post from the link up, if there is more than one hopefully!

  • Feel free to share on social media with the hashtag #HumpdayConfessions and I'll retweet.

  • Enjoy!

What TV Shows to Watch this Autumn

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and one of the reasons why are the amazing TV shows! I know I sound like a total couch potato saying that, but there are truly great shows on TV in the fall. Some of these are new shows, some are old, but get out your remote, program your DVR and add these to your list!

FallTVShows

You're the Worst

It's season two, but you should catch up and watch season one first. The show focuses on the two main character Gretchen and Jimmy who are both twenty-something year olds and highlights their lives in a dark NSFW humorous way. Catch it on Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. Eastern on FXX.

(Source)

American Horror Story: Hotel

I've already explained a few times why you need to be watching AHS. This season will take place in a hotel (duh...), has Lady Gaga on the cast, and is perfect for your pre-halloween horrors. Returns October 7th at 10 p.m. Eastern on FX.

Empire

I totally just got into Empire recently and have no idea how I went so long without it. It was so good that Fox brought it back early since last year, season one premiered in January. It's a music drama with an amazing cast, music you'll want on your iPod, and many guest appearances! Catch it on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern on Fox

(Source)

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Yes. yes. and yes. Catch it on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. Eastern on CBS.

The Affair

If you haven't been watching, you're missing out. This romantic drama is a whirlwind of action and has already won two Golden Globes! One of my favorite parts of this was that the viewer was able to see all the action from two different points of views. Teaser: This season will add Helen's point of view too! Returns Sunday, October 4, at 10 pm Eastern on Showtime

Scream Queens

Okay, so I debated not adding this in, but this show is ridiculous in all the good ways. With a cast including Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, and even Ariana Grande in it, Scream Queens is sure to impress. The series is produced by Ryan Murphy who created Glee and is all about a college sorority murder mystery. Catch it on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.

What are you looking forward to watching this Fall?

On a second, unrelated note I will be co-hosting a twitter chat for the first time ever! It is the #Passionchat and will be about the importance of social media which we all know is huge for bloggers. I would absolutely be tickled pink if you could al join even just for a question or two. it will be held at 8 p.m. Eastern time and don't worry, if you have never participated in a twitter chat before it's easy! If you have any questions on how to participate or twitter chats in general tweet at me (@alannaandco) or email me. I would love to answer your questions!

Bloomin' Onion Rings That Will Make You Drool

Hi, I'm Tayler and I blog at The Morrell Tale. I'm a 25 year old Jr. High teacher turned SAHM. I blog about my adventures of teaching, being a mother, family life, my Mormon religion, books I read, and recipes I create.

Well, one of my husband, Justin, and my favorite appetizers/sides is Bloomin Onions and onion rings. So, we decided that since onions are extraordinarily cheap, we decided to merge the two together and make some Bloomin Onion Rings. (And the best part of this recipe is you DON'T need a deep fryer!)

Ingredients
1 onion

Oil for frying

Batter

1 egg

1 cup of milk

Flour Breading

1 cup flour

dash of salt

dash of pepper

1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper (it was a little hot for me, so next time, I'm only gonna use 1 teaspoon)

1 teaspoons paprika

dash of oregano

dash of thyme

dash of sage

Dipping Sauce

1/2 cup mayo

1 1/2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon creole seasoning

Directions

1) Slice the onion into rings. Pop out the layers and throw the hearts away.

2) Mix together the batter ingredients and in a separate bowl, the flour breading ingredients.

3) Place the flour breading in a shallow bowl.

4) Dip the onion rings in the batter.

5) Place the wet rings in the flour batter and pack it on the ring.

6) Place the rings in pre-heated oil (medium heat).

7) When the rings start to brown, flip them over.

8) Once both sides are brown, place them on the cooling rack over a cookie sheet, so the excess oil falls off.

9) Mix the dipping sauce ingredients together.

10) Enjoy!

Delicious, homemade onion rings

Do you like Bloomin Onions or onion rings? What are your favorite spices/seasonings for them? What are your favorite sauces to dip them in?

How to Balance Blogging and Working Full Time

Remember a while back I mentioned that I started a new job? Well, the first couple weeks were pretty uneventful, as most new jobs, but it has dramatically picked-up. When I started blogging last year, I had a lot of free time during work and also after work to commit to writing posts, scheduling my editorial calendar, replying to comments, etc. But you know how life likes to get in the way of your plans, right? So how do I juggle working a demanding full-time job along with blogging, which as many of you know, can be a full-time job in itself! I've paired up with Alex from Always, Al to share our best tips on how to balance blogging and working (and still having a life!)

managingtime

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Take advantage of all the great tools out there to help you blog! I consistently use Buffer, but there are other great scheduling tools like Co-Schedule, Hootsuite, and more to help promote your posts. I typically schedule one facebook update, three-four twitter updates, add a pin, stumble the post, and post to Google+ for each post! Buffer can take care of four out of those updates (Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Google+) right away, as soon as you hit "Publish" on your post, take some time to write out all your social media updates, and then you won't have to worry about it the day that your post goes live.

Use an Editorial Calendar and Plan your Posts

Not only does this help create consistency for your readers, but it also gives you deadlines! Figure out what you want to write, when you want the post to go live, and then work backwards. It usually takes me a good couple hours to write a post, if I know I need to write my three posts for next week, I can plan out how much time to set aside, and when I need to get it done by. Unfortunately, I don't have Co-Schedule or Wordpress, which I think does all of this, but I use my handy Google Calendar. Here's a sneak peek of how I lay out my calendar. I color code posts that are already developed, and posts that are still drafts.

Don't feel pressured to respond immediately

I know we're all tempted to read and respond to everyone's comments and tweets as they ping in on our phones, tablets, etc. I've only recently employed this strategy and it really helps. I always have my phone on me and to combat impulsively checking it and then feeling the urge to respond, I put my phone on "Do Not Disturb," that way, notifications can still come in, but they won't beep at me. By all means, please do respond to all your comments, but if you respond a few hours (or even a whole day!) after the notification comes in, no one will die!

Set aside dedicated work time and blog time (and life time!)

I'm going to assume when you're at your job you're busy. You're on the clock, you're getting paid, so respect your employer's time and concentrate on the job at hand. At the same time, find some dedicated time for blogging. I typically dedicate my week day evenings and Sunday evenings to blogging! In that time alone, I can get everything I need for my blog done. That way I have my Friday evenings and Saturdays to spend time outside the blog world and spend some quality time with family, friends, or Starla!

Hi everyone! I’m Alex, and I blog over at Always, Al,  a lifestyle blog where I write about all the different things that interest me. I write a little bit about beauty, books and you’ll see the occasional recipe or DIY on there too. I started writing Always, Al as a creative outlet when I was in college, and continued it when I moved down South for work! One of the things that I work on a lot in life is balancing my work with my blog. Blogging is my favorite hobby, and it is so important to have a good work, blog and life balance. I find that when I don't have a good balance, all three of these things suffer! Whether you are balancing work, school, children, blogging, or animals, here are some of the strategies that I have found help me to stay sane!

You Can Do Anything, But Not Everything

I am a firm believer that you can do anything you put your mind to. But with the busy schedules that we take on today, it's so important to keep in mind that we can't do everything. Taking on too many responsibilities isn't good for anyone. When I have too many things going on, I always feel spread too thin, and I know that my work, blog and life are suffering for it.

Plan Out Your Time

Scheduling my days is a lifesaver. I use a Day Designer to schedule my time and to keep daily to-do lists for both my work and my blog. Planning my time helps me to use my time wisely and make sure that I am getting all the tasks done that I need to do. I highly suggest that everyone invest in a quality planner and start using it!

Take a Break!

When I blog, I occasionally miss a post in my editorial calendar. In finding balance between work, life and blogging, sometimes something has to give. Since blogging for me is a hobby, that is what needs to take a back burner sometimes. And that is okay! We all need to give ourselves a break once in a while to be able to catch up on life, or even just to recover from a busy week. Blogland will be there when we get back.

What tricks do you use to balance your work and your blog? Or are you a full-time blogger?

Humpday Confessions - It's Back!

Welcome to Humpday Confessions!! It's back. Like I said two weeks ago, I am the new host for humpday confessions. I'll be hosting this every week starting this week. I hope you can join along with the fun!

I confess that...

- I finally got my DSLR camera! I am so excited, except for the fact that I totally am struggling with the manual mode :( I followed Nina's tutorial which has helped a lot but I'm still struggling to remember what ISO level and F-stop I want when I want it. I often take about 20 photos before I find one that's okay...This is the best photo I've taken so far.

- The Pope is in D.C.! And I am at home teleworking. I am not braving the crowds, even trying to metro or cab into the city, or anything of that sort. I'm happily staying across the other side of the bridge until the craziness ends.

- Last week when I was in Chicago, I flew in early and got lunch by myself. I totally bought myself an entire Chicago deep dish....given, it was a "Small" size, but it was a $29 pizza that I might have tried to demolish all by myself. Whoops, diet plan #fail.

- I've been Snapchatting my life away! I think I finally am getting into it. You can follow me at: alannaandco. And post your snapchat username in the comments, I need more people to follow! Also, who else is creeped out by the new update? If I see one more rainbow mouth.... #annoyed

- I suck at fantasy football. Thank god that I installed the app that beeps at me if my players are suspended or not going to score well... #DamnYouBell

- Lauren posted this amazing post on "What to do when you feel like a fake grown-up," and I'm right there with her. It was such a helpful post for me this week. Have you ever felt that way?

Now onto the link-up!

Here are the ground rules for the link-up:

  • Each Wednesday create a post about what’s going on in your life and confess!

  • Grab the button and include it in your post or include a text link back to the link-up. This will be mandatory.

5 Ideas to Keep Your Dogs Fit and Fun

Good Morning readers! Today, I have a guest post from Jordan Walker about your furry friends! Hope you enjoy.

Jordan Walker has a passionate interest in animals and their welfare. He is the lead content curator for Coops and Cages and other pet-related blog sites and has written several articles about the subject. In this post, he gives tips on how you can keep your dogs in good shape.

Just like humans, dogs also need to follow proper diet and a series of exercise for them to stay healthy for many years.

Aside from health risks like obesity and other chronic diseases, studies show that dogs that do not go on a regular exercise are also more likely to manifest behavioral issues such as uncontrollable barking, digging, and even chewing.

As health remains to be one of the most important factors in sharing happier and longer moments with your dog companion, here are some essential tips that will help you keep your dog fit and fun.

Have Them Follow a Balanced Diet

Before giving your dog any diet plan, make sure to consult your vet so you have an idea whether he is overweight and if he is, how much weight he needs to lose.

To make a good start, never give your dog the kinds of food that are high in fats and calories. Instead, replace them with healthier options like green beans, baby carrots, banana slices, and dehydrated sweet potatoes.

Observe Discipline

Food discipline does not only help your dogs keep the right behavior during meal time, it also makes reaching diet goals easier for them. Do not overfeed them as they only need to be fed two to three times every day.

Make it a habit to measure the nutrient content of your pet’s meal to keep track of their calorie intake and prevent them from taking in an amount that is greater than what is recommended by their vet. These measures will avert you from dealing with their misbehavior.

Get Your Pet Moving!

A balanced diet will be useless for any pet if you do not pair it with exercise. A better way to do it is for you to exercise together with your dog, which also gives you, as the owner the chance to share a quality time with them.

There are a number of activities that you can do together, such as running, walking, hiking, and even swimming for at least 30 minutes per day. These will keep both you and your canine friend in good shape.

As a safety reminder, before starting any exercise program, make sure you have your vet’s approval. Outdoor activities should also be done during the coldest time of the day as too much exposure to heat can put your dog’s life at risk.

Give Your Pet Enough Time to Rest

Although your pet needs physical activities, you should also give them enough time to rest after a long and tiring day. This will let them replenish energy and will prevent over fatigue, which often results to mood swings and other untoward behaviors.

Let Your Dog Loose!

Another effective way to keep your dog fit and happy is to let him play at his own pace. Let him roam around the house or play in your backyard freely. Give him toys that he can enjoy.

Letting your pet play at his own convenience gives him the time to explore things, which could help improve his self-confidence and social behavior.

The greatest reward that you can give your dog is a healthy mind and body. By following these tips, it will no longer be impossible for these goals to be achieved!

The Best DC Bars to Watch Football

Now some of you may know that I'm not a passionate, wild, sports watching type of girl. However, most of my friends are. I always feel left out when football season is back on. So this year season I've tried something different. I joined a fantasy football league. I'm decently competitive so I thought that if I put myself in a competitive game that I would actually pay attention to the games more...which was kind of true. Guess what the second thing I needed to really get myself into the game?

You guessed it! Booze! Because seriously, football and beer go hand-in-hand. So here's my round-up (from friend's suggestions) of the best bars you should visit when you want to watch the games.

Nellie's

Located at 900 U St NW, Washington, DC 20001. $15 Buckets of Bud, Bud Light or Mich Ultra all day!

RFD Washington

Home for Cleveland Browns. Located at 810 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20001 in Chinatown.

Penn Quarter Sports Tavern

Home for Denver Broncos. Located at 639 Indiana Ave NW, Washington, DC 20004 near the Verizon Center.

Public Bar

Home for Oakland Raiders. Located at 1214 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20036 in Dupont. $3 Miller Lites and $3 Coors Lights During All NFL games.

Lucky Bar

Located at 1221 Connecticut Ave, Washington, DC 20036 in Dupont.

I'll keep adding onto this list as the season goes along so keep checking back, reviewing more, and adding more of the happy hour deals. But honestly,  you can just follow along with me on Twitter and I'll let you know what's the best!

Where do you like to go to watch the games?

Between The Lines & Reading Update

I'm finally getting back into reading! It's been almost two months without reading a book. I really have no excuse. I'm listening to more audiobooks now too, since I've been taking the metro into work and I can't stream music underground.

What I Read

Inside the O'Briens by Lisa Genova

Between the Lines on Inside the O'Briens

1.  In chapter one, Joe mentions the “Charlestown code of silence.” Discuss how Boston acts as a kind of character in the novel. How does its unique culture seep into the O’Brien family relations and how they interact with their community? How is your community different?
Boston has a crazy strong culture. Boston is a historical town, and it has historically been dominated by Irish culture. I think even to to this day, you can feel that culture and pride emanating even when visiting the city. With that culture, comes certain traditions and ways of life that their residents don't tend to stray away from them. The O'Brien's are no different. For example, Rosie expects that Katie would marry a "man of faith from a good family, have a steady job and ideally live in Charleston." What Rosie truly meant is a Catholic, a good family being Irish, and a steady job working for fire department, police, or at the post office. My community is almost the complete opposite of this. Living in Washington D.C. everyone is a transplant from somewhere else. The D.C. "culture" is being multicultural.

 2.  Joe is fiercely proud of his job as a police officer, but admits that he sometimes feels constrained by the uniform and the trappings that come with assuming that identity. How do you think that internal conflict ripples through his children and their professional choices? Who do you think is most like him? Who is most different?

I wish that we got to know the brothers and sisters a bit more. We barely knew Patrick, JJ's character didn't have too much depth, and the one sister we knew the most about, Katie, I don't feel like is the "most" alike to Joe.

3.  Katie is compelled to leave, yet still feels tethered. Discuss the role that family and tradition play in the novel. When is tradition helpful, and when does it hold us back?
There are many factors that keep Katie tethered to stay in Boston with her family. First of all, for generations her family has been living in Boston, in the same house, as one large family. This tradition provides stability, routine, and consistency. Unfortunately for Katie, not only are her dreams are being held back by keeping this tradition, but also her relationship.

4.  Ultimately, Joe becomes an unreliable narrator. He can’t predict his moods or even his movements. How does he use the reflections of people and his surrounding environment to monitor himself? Who do you think he depends on most, and why?
I think this is one of the most terrifying and depressing aspects of the book and of the disease. Even half-way through the book, when Joe took walks and was still able to move and communicate decently, he wouldn't realize the tremors he was having and would have to wait until someone reacted to it, like when he was walking Yaz and another lady walking a dog blatantly avoided all contact with Joe and Katie. From our point of view, I think he relies heavily upon Katie and Rosie. He avoids burdening JJ, Patrick is unavailable, and Meghan is busy with ballet.

Nine Songs to Add to your Playlist

I haven't done a music post in a super long time! I don't know about you but I love streaming music. I apologize for a lot of my posts coming back to the fact of my new job, but I'm literally having to change many parts of my lifestyle. For example, the fact I can't play spotify when I'm underground on the train. Insert crying emoji here. So I'm back to downloading my music. So I've decided to share some of my favorite picks that I've recently added to my phone.
listeningto

Hotline Bling by Drake

New Americana by Halsey

Sugar by Robin Schulz

Levels by Nick Jonas

Love Myself by Hailee Steinfield

Devil by Cash Cash

Runaway by Galantis

What Do You Mean by Justin Bieber

Again by Fetty Wap

I'm sad that most of them don't have music videos but boo, oh well.

And for you lucky folk who travel in LTE/Wi-Fi style. I've made this a list that you can listen to via Spotify, and as a plus, I'll be continually adding music onto it as I go! You can find the playlist here and you can follow along for updates if you like similar music to me.

What have you been listening to? What should I add to my playlist?

On Feminism

Ever since I can remember, I've always identified as a feminist. Not until recently am I really delving deeper into the real meaning of what that means for me and others around me. If you haven't already read them, I was inspired by Nicole's post and Jord's post, numerous posts from Brita. I tend to stray away from posts that can be controversial, but I'm trying to throw that notion right out of the window.

To bring it down to basics, feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.
OnFeminism

In the past few years, I've been learning more about the nuances of feminism, equality, and misogyny, in turn I've also been in more situations where I can see misogyny and experience it for myself. I was raised in a middle-class family, as an only child. My parents raised me to be independent, not compare myself to others, and to fight for what I believe in. I went to a large,  urban, bipartisan school that was almost equally male and female. I joined a sorority, and even though many would think that being in a sorority would negate my feminist perspectives, it helped empower me to understand what a group of women can do together. Trust me, we all don't just have pillow fights, cry over who gets picked to go to who's fraternity date party, and paint coolers just so you can get lavaliered. Anyways, before I get stuck on sorority stereotypes and how many of them are wrong, let me get back on track. I never would have thought, in any setting, that I would find myself dating a male chauvinist. Here comes my one and only disclaimer for this post. I have never taken any women's studies, cultural study classes, etc. So I apologize if I'm not using the right terminology. I will try to explain the best I can, and if I'm incorrect I would love if you could let me know politely in the comments. For two years, I sat and listened to what I was supposed to do as a woman, what women aren't supposed to do, and why I'm doing good for a woman. Eek. I get that he wasn't trying to crush my spirit or be intentionally spiteful but why did I stand for that? As most of you regular readers know, I broke up with him a few months back, said my peace, and never looked back.

I just had a talk with one of my friends, she's studying law and previously was working for a large technology firm in the DC area. Like most large technology companies, they are male dominated. She explained to me that even after four years, she was stuck behind one of her male counter-parts and wasn't fully recognized until she finally transferred teams to another boss who would recognize her work. I immediately was frustrated on her behalf but was happy that she was able to do something to get herself out of that situation.

However, when I thought more about both of these situations, yes, we both were able to leave a bad situation, but the situation was never fixed. In my situation, I wasn't able to appropriately articulate how I felt, how it made me feel, and the even bigger picture of how this can affect the entire female population. He never learned and I'm sure this will continue in his next relationships. What I want to do is be able to educate people. I want to become more comfortable with self-proclaiming myself as a feminist, helping to educate people about it, and to advocate for feminism.

Am I a feminist? Yes.

Why? Because:

1. I don't want to oppress my voice against social injustices.

2. I do not want gender discrimination.

3. I would like to see more empowered women in my society. I hope that my voice can inspire others to talk about feminism, even if you are not the most well versed!

Are you a feminist or not? What are your opinions on feminism?

Humpday Confessions & Link-up Announcement

Happy Humpday! I am so happy for long weekends and that today is only the second day of the work week. Now let's get to the confessions!

I confess that...

-This is the first week of my new job and I'm starting to learn the metro better. I really hope it doesn't snow a lot this winter because I will really need to wear in my snow boots in that case.

-I had an amazing, albeit very drunk, long weekend! I had a wedding on Saturday for one of my sorority friends that I've known since the second day of my freshman year. I am so happy for her! The wedding was beautiful. Then I went to go see Modest Mouse on Sunday and went to a bottomless food & drink brunch on Monday. I really should write up a review of the restaurant I went to on Monday. I loved it!

-I'm finally cleaning out my emails of all my junk subscriptions. I really don't need Costco, Elle magazine, Google+ and more crap emailing me daily. I take a good five minutes just deleting emails from my phone without even reading them. I love the gmail unsubscribe button!

-I'm back to not paying for any fitness or gym memberships. My Classpass ended and I can't bring myself to renew it. It's so expensive! The only gym that is in walking distance is a Sport and Health and they're super expensive too! I am going to plan on walking more, running every once in a while and then lifting daily at my work gym or gym in my apartment building. Weight loss goal, here I come!

-I am super pleased with myself for figuring out the sticky top navigation, drop down menus and being able to shorten my sidebar! I think my space looks a lot cleaner, however that doesn't help me with narrowing down my niches/categories. I've actually added more :( whoops.

-I don't mind washing laundry, I don't mind folding laundry but I hate putting it all away. I don't know why! I currently have basket of clean folded laundry sitting in my corner and all my hanging clothes strewn across the back of my office chair.

-I'm totally going to buy my DSLR when I get my PTO pay out. I had 200 hours of PTO that I never used. Clearly, I need to take more vacation time. I think I'm going to go for the Canon Rebel T3i or T2i with a 50 mm lens. Any suggestions of what I should get? What do you fancy DSLR peeps have? Someone help me.

In addition, I have a big announcement. I know a few of you have noticed that the Humpday Confessions link-ups have unfortunately gone away. So I decided to take it upon myself to host it. (I hope I'm not crazy!) It'll be a weekly link-up where you have time to confess your life every Wednesday! Just like this post. The first week I'll launch the link-up will be September 23rd. So mark your calendars and grab the button below. If you ever want to co-host, I'd love it. Just shoot me an email and I'll get you all set up.

Favorite Things to Do in Autumn

It's finally September! Are you all ready for autumn as much as I am? Today, I'm teaming up with Jasmine from Classy, Sassy and Smartassy and we're bringing you the best things to do in autumn.
Autumn

I'm Jasmine and I blog over at Classy Sassy & A Bit Smartassy. I'm a beauty & lifestyle blogger. I have two boys ages 4 & 6. I'm a girlfriend and self taught makeup artist.Today, were going to talk about Fall. If you don't know, Fall is my favorite season. But living in Wisconsin we only get maybe 2 months of Fall. Which really sucks. So we have to try and fit all activities in that short amount of time.

What are my favorite things to do in Fall?

Pumpkin Patches

I'm such a kid at heart and I love that I have kids so I can take them to pumpkin patches enjoy the activities they have available and pick out our pumpkins for our homes.

Decorating my home

I have already been going to Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Target to see what I want to get for my apartment. The warm colors, the candles and everything that goes along with making your house feel warm and cozy like Fall.. I want lol

Shopping for Dark Beauty Products

I have tan skin so dark reds, purples and browns are my favorite to colors to wear when applying makeup.

Shopping for Fall Clothes

Cardigans, boots, leggings, scarves, and leather jackets. I can definitely wear fall clothes all year around. Too bad that's not how mother nature works.

One thing I'm hoping to do this Fall is definitely apply picking. Haven't done that yet.

What are your favorite things to do in Fall? I love hearing about other things to do to see if they're available to do in my city.

Even though fall isn't my favorite season like Jasmine's, I do enjoy quite a few things in the cooler seasons.

All the warm drinks.

I'm over the frappuccinos. Give me my lattes, chai's, and yes, my pumpkin spice lattes.

Leaves changing colors.

Need I say more? Autumn is beautiful, the weather is perfect, and Starla loves romping through the crunchy leaves.

Boots, booties, and cardigans.

I almost fainted in DSW the other day when I saw their boot section. They have everything and I need everything.

Wine tasting season.

Well, honestly, it's wine tasting season almost all the time in Virginia, but my favorite time to go to wineries is in the fall. You can buy a bottle, sit outside, and enjoy without continually sweating.

Daylight savings time.

Fall back! You get an extra hour of sleep - need I say more?
